Rising. The Beginning

Holt Cook was not meant to become a Rider and soar through the sky on a dragon. He had diligently served the Order of Craig, working in the kitchen. That was until he discovered a terrible secret: dragons do not... tolerate weakness among their kin and kill those they deem defective. Driven by pity and compassion, Holt saves an egg from which a blind dragon hatches, and vows to protect it. But the Riders are in danger. They are being killed. Hordes of the undead roam the land, spreading disease and leaving destruction in their wake. A traitor is nearby, hiding in the shadows... Holt has only one chance to survive — he must awaken the mysterious power of his dragon. This energy will help him tip the scales in his favor in the upcoming battles and prove to the world that he deserves to be a Rider.
