Historian Karl Lamprecht (1856-1915) - one of the prominent German scholars, became the founder and actual head of the psychological historical school. Lamprecht the historian tried to view the subject as broadly as the development of contemporary historical science allowed,... suggesting that our civilization consists in affirming the psychological need of a person to live within an organized community, as well as in the feeling of the necessity for collective interaction. Some of Lamprecht's ideas had a significant impact on the views of the Annales historians, primarily Marc Bloch.
In this volume, the author describes the earliest period of the history of the Germans, depicting the social structure, way of life, spiritual life, relationships with neighbors, primarily with Rome, and the beginnings of the formation of the first states.
