Sergei Babushkin, the author of this guide, is an experienced tour guide with seven years of experience. The routes he has created range from 7.5 to 10 km – a distance that a pedestrian with a book in hand can... manage in 3-4 hours. The walks provide a comprehensive understanding of the architecture of St. Petersburg, from the Peter the Great era to the 1950s. The first four walks are dedicated to the historical part of the left bank of the Neva. The next two focus on Vasilievsky Island and the Petrograd side. The seventh and eighth routes are laid out in the outskirts – Narva and Moscow districts. The last chapter presents tourists with several additional routes ranging from 1 to 4 km, including the Alexander Nevsky Lavra and the unique Petrograd district.
