A Clockwork Orange

The plot is based on the story told by Alex - a teenager who has formed a gang of peers engaged in robbery and violence. While serving a sentence for murder, he becomes part of an experiment designed to "cure" the violent teenager. The ending of the novel remains open. Alex is convinced that youth will always rebel and each generation will repeat the same scenario. There is no real friendship, conscience, or honor in society. The only tool that consistently works is cruelty.
