hold in your hands a book that waited for its publication for 50 years. First published in 1966 - 37 years after the conception - the diabolical tale of Mikhail Bulgakov almost immediately fell into the hands of a sixteen-year-old girl named Nadia Rusheva. In her short life, forever young Nadia created about 12,000 illustrations, gifting enchanting images to the works of Alexander Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy... The work on “The Master and Margarita” became her last. For “The Master and Margarita,” Nadia became the first artist. Upon seeing these drawings for the first time, Elena Bulgakova, the writer’s wife and the prototype of the main character of the novel, exclaimed: “How free!.. Mature!.. <…> The more you look, the more it draws you in... What amplitude of feelings!.. The girl at 16 understood everything perfectly. And not only understood, but also convincingly, magnificently depicted it.”
