The leading researcher of Eisenstein's life and work, the author and compiler of this monographic album, Naum Kleiman, reveals the motives and tasks of the director's graphic works in a new light, quoting and commenting on excerpts from the reflections and analyses of the master himself, part of which is also published for the first time. The publication opens with a foreword by the legendary contemporary director Martin Scorsese. The introductory article on the history of the archive of Sergei Eisenstein and the vast complex of his graphic heritage is prepared by the director of RGALI - Tatiana Goryaeva. The biographical article is written by British film historian Ian Christie.
