Seventeen years ago, the first of the so-called non-humans was discovered in Africa - beings that are outwardly indistinguishable from humans but are impossible to kill.
This discovery was a massive event for humanity, but over the years the hype... has settled: although non-humans are still incredibly important to world governments and scientific laboratories, their existence has little impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
An ordinary high school student, Kei Nagai, never thought that he would ever encounter these semi-mythical beings.
But one day he gets into an accident and, according to the well-known laws of medicine, should die - but... for some reason, he does not die.
And immediately becomes the target of a ruthless hunt...
