About Poets and Poetry

33 reflections-essays by Dmitry Bykov on the poetic path, creative style of outstanding Russian poets, and not only, from Alexander Pushkin to B.G. are presented in this book. And no matter how paradoxical and provocative some of the discoveries in Dmitry Bykov's articles, lectures, and his lively thought may sound, brilliant and unusual, there is always a healthy grain of insight that highlights the non-obvious parallels and subtexts, mutual influences, resonances, and revelations about the biographies and fates of Russian poets, which, if pondered, become obvious and credible, and will inevitably be acknowledged by you, dear readers, if you just take the time to read closely.
