My Struggle. Book Three. Childhood

«Childhood» — the third part of the autobiographical cycle «My Struggle» by the classic of modern Norwegian literature Karl Ove Knausgård. The writer turns to his earliest memories, often fragmentary, but always vivid and emotionally rich, reflecting the sharpness of impressions and experiences of a child when confronted with the surrounding world. From the distance of the years lived, he observes how his inner «self» was formed, how he learned to recognize himself as a person. The move to the island of Trømøya, elementary school, street games, the first offense, the first loss… «Childhood» — this is an emotionally charged reflection on growing up, presented in the form of almost tangible images that come alive in the author's memory.
