World of Comics. Protoimages, Japanese Manga, Film Comic

This book is a collection of articles by leading Russian-speaking scholars and bloggers exploring comics in the fields of literary studies, history, Japanese studies, film studies, and sociology. The book has four sections, introducing the reader to the specifics of... comics depending on their national affiliation (Slavic, Japanese, American, European comics) and mode of existence (slide film, film comic, advertising technologies). The collection was mainly prepared based on materials from the Fourth Russian Conference of Comic Researchers, held in the spring of 2019.
The book is aimed at a wide range of readers - librarians, book specialists, philologists, cultural scientists, film scholars, Japanese studies experts, as well as comic book authors and anyone interested in the ninth art.
