Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) became one of the icons of our time thanks to her paintings and, perhaps even more so, her image in photography and painting.
She painted about one hundred and fifty works, half of which are self-portraits: the central theme of Frida Kahlo's art was Frida Kahlo herself. Intense and prolonged work on the formation of her own identity, defining her uniqueness, resilience in the constant experience of physical suffering, the search for the origins of her "self" that determine her character – these are the main driving forces on the artist's path to the boundless world of Latin American surrealism.
