Vilnius Lectures on Social Philosophy

The book presents a course of lectures on social philosophy delivered by Merab Mamardashvili in Vilnius in 1981. The philosopher presents his understanding of sociality, tracing the complex interconnections between the structure of society, its functioning, and thought. In none of his other texts does the author assert so directly and consistently the dependence of thought on involvement in relationships with other people, on what he calls 'communality' and 'event'.
