On the road, death visits the boy and for the first time notices Liesel.
Thus, the girl finds herself on Himmel Street – Heaven Street. Whoever came up with that name had a healthy sense of humor. It wasn't that there was absolute hell there. No. But it was certainly not paradise.
'The Book Thief' became a publishing sensation. Its print run in English alone exceeded 1.5 million copies.
