Prison People

Over ten years spent in prison, Mikhail Khodorkovsky met many people. Some of these seemingly 'finished' people for society have by no means 'finished' as individuals and demonstrated courage in incredibly harsh prison conditions. Even despite threats of new sentences, solitary confinement, or knives, they found the strength to defend their moral values, their truth, and their ideas of justice. One can relate to the values of these people in different ways, but if a person is ready to suffer for their principles, and truly suffer, it is worthy of respect.

Prison is an extreme place and clearly reveals what a particular person is worth. Mikhail Khodorkovsky's stories are not just tales of people with difficult fates. This book is about Russian society and its values, about the weakness and resilience, the baseness and honor of people.
