Private Cases

«Private Cases» — is a collection of essays about significant works of art created in the last century and their authors, who inspired Groys to new discoveries and interpretations. The book is inspired by art as a practice that changes perception and thinking. Boris Groys writes about the works of Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, Fischli and Weiss, Rebecca Horn, and others. «Private Cases» is an exploration of key questions related to the development of contemporary art: originality, secondary nature, the value of works of art, the language of power contained within them, and more. They do not «explain» art theory, but rather follow the impulses that the works themselves provide.
