In "The Dalton Brothers," the main hero faces off against the quartet of bandit brothers, the Daltons, wicked but not very smart. They want to take revenge on Luke for their cousins, who are even bigger bandits than they are, but defeating the lucky cowboy is not that easy. The Dalton Brothers will appear many more times in the stories about Lucky Luke, as they are the main comedic characters of the entire series, with their surname becoming a household name, synonymous with stupidity and clumsiness. The comics about Lucky Luke are aimed at a very wide audience. Both children and older readers will be delighted by the adventurous plot, the virtuoso caricature drawing, the kind irony, and the humor present in every frame. The humor, usually based on wordplay and the principles of situational comedy, never goes below the belt. And despite the heroes often waving guns and making pow-pow sounds, there is neither rudeness nor violence in these stories.
