Kai and the Monkey King

Once, Kai and her mother received a letter from the inhabitants of a distant village. In it, they plead for help to save them from a monster that destroys their home year after year. Kai and her mother went to the library to find out how to help the villagers. But Kai finds it boring to sit over dusty books; she dreams of real adventures.
While wandering between the bookshelves, the girl discovers an ancient legend about the Monkey King and decides to secretly go in search of him. After all, the Monkey King is the bravest and most daring and can overcome anyone, even a huge monster! But is he really invincible?
This tale teaches us that real heroes are often very close to us — we just need to see them.
