Karamzin

Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin - a great Russian historian and writer, a reformer of national literature. He introduced the letter Ё into the Russian language and with the immortal story "Poor Liza" not only laid the foundation for a new literary direction - sentimentalism, but... also determined the further paths for the development of national literature. However, the main work of his life is rightly considered the twelve-volume "History of the Russian State", a selfless work in which the author first fully revealed the vast picture of our past to readers. The famous historian and literary figure Vladimir Muravyov not only deeply studied the literary and historical works of the court historiographer but also demonstrated the remarkable modernity of many of Karamzin's remarks and conclusions. An undeniable merit of the book is that the author managed to recreate the vivid image of his hero - a caring son, a loving husband, and a devoted father.
