My Life in Art

At the center of attention is the author's creative journey: from early theatrical impressions to the creation of the Moscow Art Theatre. This is not a complete history of the MAT, but a story of personal artistic quests and how key ideas about stage art were born. The book combines memoirs, biography, and an analysis of theatrical practice. Significant attention is given to productions, work on roles, the search for stage truth, and the development of acting skills.
