Malachite Box. Tales

The magical in these stories is not separated from everyday life: work in the mine, need, dependence on superiors, and rare craftsmanship are just as important as the miracle. Some characters seek their path in craftsmanship, while others are tested by greed, honesty, and loyalty to the cause. The common Ural world connects everyday authenticity, folk beliefs about underground riches, and a fairy-tale manner of speech.
