Russian Rembrandt - Marianna Veriovkina

Marianna Veriovkina — an outstanding Russian expressionist artist, one of the key yet underappreciated figures of European modernism, whose legacy continues to inspire researchers and art lovers. She made a significant contribution to the development of European art in the early 20th century, combining Russian and European artistic traditions, and her experiments with form, color, and technique anticipated many trends of modernism and expressionism. From the brilliant salons of St. Petersburg to the bohemian circles of Munich, from the "Pink Salon" — the epicenter of avant-garde ideas — to the quiet Ascona, which became her final resting place, her path intertwined with the fates of Ilya Repin, Kandinsky, Alexei Yavlensky, Franz Marc, Gabriele Münter, and other creators of the era.
