Hton' Beyond the Outskirts

The book includes nine stories about Belarusian evil spirits and their coexistence with humans. The tales unfold in rural depths, old villages, by the forest and in cemeteries. There is not one common plot at the center, but different encounters with what lives nearby and almost always remains beyond the ordinary gaze. Some stories lean towards cozy folklore, while others delve into harsh mysticism with a sense of constant threat. The book combines rural horror, dark fantasy, and family narratives, where not only monsters and spirits are important, but also the connection of a person with their native land, memory, and fears.
