After the death of the owner of the textile factory, a struggle for influence begins in the city. Hidden interests, conspiracies, deals, and the question of who benefits from each new step come to the forefront. Several storylines develop in parallel: a girl from a Catholic school tries to break free from strict confines and encounters strong feelings for the first time, a monk-organist becomes a spiritual advisor in a women's monastery and sees how rules replace faith, while mystical motives raise anew the question of what drives a person — knowledge, power, or love. These storylines are connected by a common space, a conflict of interests, and a moral choice.
