About the Fall into Oblivion

This book includes, in essence, everything that Dmitry Bakin managed to write before his early departure from life (April 7, 2015, at the age of 51), one of the most mysterious and interesting prose writers of Russia in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, according to leading critics. Bakin's novellas and stories have been translated and published in the main languages of the world. The last book published in Japan, in Tokyo, and sent to him, he did not see.

It features stories known from the book "Country of Origin" (1996) and those written in later years, published in the major magazines "Znamya" and "Novy Mir," three chapters from the unfinished novel "From Death to Birth," and a narrative outline of the historical novella provisionally titled "Francis Craig, or Flirting with the Gallows."

The Appendix includes the writer's last and only interview, given in 2008 to an online newspaper, letters from the army (1982-1984), responses and reviews from well-known critics and literary scholars on his first and subsequent publications, as well as other materials related to his name.
