For many years, the Greek island of Corfu has been closely associated with the name of the writer and naturalist Gerald Durrell: he glorified this island in his books, and several popular adaptations have been made based on his works. The writer Lawrence Durrell, Gerald's older brother, also wrote about Corfu many times. Readers and tourists coming to the island have always been curious to know where exactly the events of the Durrells' books took place and to see with their own eyes the villas, villages, lakes, and mountains mentioned there.
