Masterpieces of Russian Landscape

The landscape is the most popular genre of painting: it confidently occupies the top spots in the sales rankings of posters in the art section, and the most famous and beloved Russian painters (according to surveys) became landscape artists Ivan Aivazovsky and Ivan Shishkin. This genre is extremely diverse: landscapes capture both real existing views of nature and imaginary ones, natural nature (mountains, forests, rivers) and that altered by man (architectural ensembles, buildings, parks).

The album features more than 30 masters of Russian landscape painting. In addition to the famous paintings - essential symbols of domestic painting, created by the brilliant masters of landscape - Aivazovsky, Savrasov, Shishkin, Levitan, it includes works by artists who worked alongside these masters. The fame of outstanding contemporaries has somewhat overshadowed their art, but our publication provides an opportunity to discover the creativity of Kryzhytsky, Yendogurov, Gorbatov, and other undeservedly forgotten names, and to become acquainted with new paintings.
