After the explosion at the laboratory, Ross was the only surviving employee. Ross faces a choice: decades of artificial coma and cryostasis while waiting for new treatment methods to become available or voluntary euthanasia. But there is a third, unusual option — "The Second World," a virtual game with full immersion. Ross's funds, his parents' funds, and the remaining obligations of the company are enough to purchase a working account, special equipment for connecting sick players, and maintaining his body in a state of artificial coma for ten months. During this time, Ross needs to get accustomed to the game and find a way to earn enough to pay for the account and sustain his body.
