The Secret Recipe of the Demon

At the end of a quiet alley in a residential area hides a restaurant where anything you desire can be prepared – from tteokbokki with mandarins and grapes to egg soup with lobster and truffles. The owner and chef of the establishment, a seemingly sixteen-year-old boy named Demon, is a shy heir to a dying kingdom of demons, who is at least a hundred years older. He is assisted by a talking, grumpy raven named Pazuzu, who collects shiny trinkets. There is no menu or prices in sight. Instead, guests pay with sparkling items demanded by the raven. People come here who no longer know where to escape from themselves. The first guest is swimmer Saehyun, who cannot get on the podium. She faces a choice: give up her dream or continue training to exhaustion. Demon senses her envy and serves her tteokbokki with mandarin and grapes… who thinks to mix sweet with spicy? The second visitor, shy schoolgirl Jiyun, lives in the shadow of her only friend. The owner feels her loneliness and prepares beef and radish soup with firm peaches. The third guest, Minjun, hides his fear of losing his closest person behind a rebellious facade. Demon recognizes his resentment and serves kimbap – the painfully familiar taste of home that Minjun has managed to forget. However, the chef’s treats carry something more. With each portion, guests immerse themselves in fantastic visions – a possible future that will come if they continue to doubt, envy, or hate. The owner does not change fate; he only offers a glimpse into it. The choice remains with the guests: to learn a lesson or repeat a mistake.
