A strange series of events, chance meetings, and mystical coincidences lead Fridolin further through the mysterious and ghostly atmosphere of the night, full of enigmas and unresolved questions. The text of the novella is adapted using Ilya Frank's method: it is provided with a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical and grammatical commentary.
