The Book of Slavic Spirits and Fairy Creatures

The author recounts that the idea for the book was born from her childhood impressions of fairy tales and mythological beings. She recalls listening to stories about Kashchey the Deathless, Zmey Gorynych, the Gray Wolf, and asking endless questions that her parents could not always answer. A true source of knowledge became her grandmother, who told vivid, almost domestic stories about house spirits, water spirits, and kikimoras – creatures that seemed absolutely real to the author.

These tales shaped her imagination and love for the world of mythological beings. The author invites the reader to embark on a journey through the "planet of folk imagination," meeting the spirits and characters of Slavic mythology and seeing them as vividly and colorfully as she saw them in her childhood.
