Lidia Masterkova: the right to experiment

The first monograph on the work of one of the few women artists of the unofficial artistic community of the late 1960s - mid-1970s, Lidia Masterkova (1927-2008), written by her niece - art historian Margarita Masterkova-Tupitsyna. The book covers the Soviet and foreign periods of Lidia's work, beginning with her decision to embark on the path of a "rare and dangerous profession" of an alternative artist in 1943. The publication includes rare photographs and letters from Lidia Masterkova to Margarita Masterkova-Tupitsyna and Viktor Agamov Tupitsyn, written during her emigration and before the collapse of the Soviet Union.
