The book by one of the greatest psychologists of the 20th century, Alfred Adler, who created his own direction in psychology, is dedicated to the consideration of the problems of child psyche formation and upbringing, allowing us to view Adler not only as a great psychologist but also as a talented educator. The key concepts of the theory are 'inferiority complex' and 'striving for power' — the main driving forces of a person on the path of self-development. As a result of the inevitable confrontation with such life problems as love, professional activity, and social status, a person strives for personal superiority, power, and significance by activating social interest. According to Adler, every person has a certain 'lifestyle' based on the unconscious influence of the educational process and social adaptation.
