Adolfo Kaminski, the Forger

Adolfo Kaminski (born in 1925) spent most of his life forging documents. Even in school, Adolfo became interested in chemistry, showing exceptional abilities. When the war began, he miraculously avoided deportation and, as soon as the opportunity arose, joined the underground. Risking his life, he expertly produced fake papers to save Jews. After the liberation of France, he helped survivors move from Europe to Palestine. In the 1950s-1960s, he made documents for freedom fighters from Africa and America. His forgeries saved thousands of people, many of whom were not even aware of Adolfo Kaminski's existence. Only when he turned 80 did he agree to tell his daughter about his perilous life. His daughter Sarah, a screenwriter and writer, decided to record his story from the first-person perspective.
