Three Magical Leaves. Scandinavian Folk Tales

The collection includes Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish folk tales gathered in the 19th century by Scandinavian folklorists. Here, by the way, is the favorite tale of Astrid Lindgren — “Three Magical Leaves” and Hans Christian Andersen — “Hunter Brute”… The tales have been translated into Russian by the recognized master of literary translation, well-known Scandinavian expert Lyudmila Braude. In her interpretation, the characters of Scandinavian folklore acquire individual, memorable traits, even if the heroes live in tales with familiar plots that have come from other countries. The finishing touches in the portrait of Scandinavian folk tales were added by the vividly individual artist from Karelia, Tamara Yufa.
