Baron Aminin and Death at the Masquerade

At the masquerade in Prince Golitsyn's house, Anna Izmalkova is murdered. Next to her is her husband—an old man of about fifty with a mad look, holding a bloody knife. Besides the police, court counselor Felix Aminin and his assistant Terenty Kosolapov get involved in the case. The investigator considers the case clear: Anna Timofeevna was caught by her husband in infidelity and killed out of jealousy. However, Aminin and Kosolapov discover that some details in the case do not add up. These discrepancies prompt them to continue searching for the truth, as a more complex plan seems to be hidden behind the obvious motive.
