Pain and Loyalty. About Love for One Dynamo and Love for All Football

of the collection is Dmitry Danilov. The illustrator is Olga Ptashnik. Before you is a book about the club «Dynamo», and more broadly about football in general and football fandom as a phenomenon. I think every fan will understand why we named the book «Pain and Loyalty». «Dynamo» has a great, legendary, golden history. 11 USSR championships and 7 Cups, the status of one of the strongest teams in the country for decades, the famous tour of Britain in 1945 (after which dozens of other «Dynamo» teams appeared around the world!), the greatest goalkeeper in the history of world football Lev Yashin and many other great players and coaches… And against this backdrop, a very difficult modernity: almost complete absence of trophies over the last half-century (!) and the now legendary «Dynamo unluckiness». But to cheer for great losers (and not for those who win trophies and succeed here and now) — is this not the highest form of love for the club? If you once became a fan of «Dynamo» and you have a heart — you will not abandon this unfortunate and great club. …And someday you will wait for a true, great triumph.
