The book is a collection of stories by the famous American science fiction writer Ray Bradbury. Bradbury's short stories are recognized masterpieces of modern literature. While not detracting from the significance of his larger works, it is worth acknowledging that it is in this form of literary creation that the writer reached the peak of mastery. Their style is a swift, emotional sketch, extraordinarily bright and original, with unusual memorable plots and subtle psychology in the portrayal of characters. The texts of the stories are adapted for educational purposes to a Pre-Intermediate level and are accompanied by commentary and exercises for practicing and consolidating grammatical and lexical skills. At the end of the guide, an English-Russian dictionary is provided.

The book is intended for students in grades 7–8 of schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, and anyone studying the English language.
