In order not to miss deadlines, successful British screenwriter Greg Dawson, the main character of the novel "In the Glow of Day," goes to work on a new project at a remote hotel in coastal Cornwall. An accidental encounter with an elderly couple he knew in his youth makes Greg remember his optimistic pre-war past and contemplate when his life went off course.
Successful playwright Martin Chiverell is experiencing a creative crisis and decides to stop writing. However, in an old theater in northern England, where Martin has come for the premiere of his latest play, he suddenly experiences a vision of a tragedy that occurred within the walls of the building a century earlier involving a young actress named Jenny Villiers.
