It is well known that most animals do not distinguish colors. But in animals, color blindness is successfully compensated for by heightened hearing, smell, and other senses.
What is it like for a person to live in a world devoid of colors? To live – as if in the frames of a black-and-white film, without the ability to fully appreciate the beauty of the surrounding world – the crimson sunset, turquoise sea, fields of golden wheat?
