Vladimir Vysotsky perceived literary creativity as the main purpose of his life. He emphasized that songs require immense work, careful crafting and polishing, and firmly denied the notion that it is merely a hobby. Nevertheless, during his lifetime, poems and songs were hardly published, although readers found in them a deep sense of self-worth, a subtle understanding of the human soul, and reflections on true love. The poet's irony, his independence from accepted views, the ability to see the world through the eyes of people from various social strata, and the special creative power of his work make Vysotsky's creations alive and in demand to this day.
