You Smell Like the Sea

Margarita Lugovaya works in several places at once: she is the best motorcycle specialist in an expensive auto repair shop, a literary editor at a small publishing house, and a tutor in Spanish. She keeps up this pace for the sake of treating her sick mother. Constant overload drains her strength and makes her closed off to the world. Everything changes when Rafael Martinez, a popular DJ from Spain, enters her life, having come to Russia to visit friends. A close relationship doesn't develop between them immediately: first comes caution, then friendship, jokes, support, and the attempt to figure out if feelings can blossom where there is too much pain and distrust. The novel combines personal drama and a story of relationships in which tenderness, patience, and the ability to listen to the other are important.
