The inhabitants of the Long Sun Cycle are exploring two new distant and dangerous worlds of the Short Sun — Blue and Green.

The chronicler and printer Biven is keeping a record of the last years of the journey, telling his own story. His family is well settled on one of the islands of Blue. But the accelerating collapse of society and the impending chaos leave the colonists with only one hope: to find Father Silk, the legendary leader and spiritual guide, who disappeared immediately after the arrival of humans on these planets.

Embarking on a long and arduous journey, Biven crosses seas and archipelagos, returns to the orbital Cycle, encounters a world of alien vampire Ingums, and faces the mysterious Neighbors — ancient inhabitants of the planets. The more difficult the path, the more his memories become entangled, the past and present intertwine, and the boundaries between personalities blur.
