They grew up in neighboring apartments, but it seemed as if in different worlds. The father struggled to cope with the quarrelsome and restless Malika, who behaved like a boy. Kirill grew up in a world of women, wrapped in attention and care. His mother and grandmother molded him into the faithful, kind, reliable man they dreamed of but never met themselves.

Having fought more than once, Malika and Kirill became the best of friends, to those around them – a brother and sister. They helped each other survive the tragedies of unrequited first love and find their calling in life.
