Day by Day. The Favorite Book of A.F. Romanova

«Day by Day» — a book of daily reflections, compiled by an Orthodox priest and first published in St. Petersburg around 1908. It is not a collection of sermons, but a quiet conversation about how to live with God in an ordinary day: to see His providence in it, to accept joy and sorrow with equal humility. The book is known for accompanying the family of the last Russian Emperor during their exile in Tobolsk. Empress Alexandra Feodorovna read it every morning and called it a source of comfort. Together with the Gospel, it became one of the main spiritual supports for the family in the final months of their earthly life. After the revolution, the book was almost completely forgotten. This edition returns it to the reader with dates provided in the new style.
