Idiot

This book about a "positively beautiful person" reads well in contrast to "Crime and Punishment," which was written two years earlier. While Raskolnikov goes through a painful journey from crime to repentance, Prince Myshkin, out of compassion for God's world, returns to madness. Fyodor Mikhailovich, through his "idiot"-prince, confesses to the horror of being on the brink of death – it is about the experience of a simulated execution after the exposure of the Petrashevtsy conspiracy. The characters developed by Dostoevsky in the "Idiot" found further development in the subsequent novels of the great pentateuch – "Demons," "The Adolescent," and "The Brothers Karamazov."
