«Glasgow» — is a strategic board game for two players, dedicated to turning Glasgow into the largest trading center in Scotland. Players become enterprising merchants of the 18th century, making deals in the port, managing resources, and building the city, striving to make the greatest contribution to its development.
The game combines thoughtful economics, an original circular turn mechanism, and tactical construction of the city grid. Every decision affects the final layout of Glasgow and the number of victory points.
How the game proceeds
Players start with a minimal set of resources — stone and steel — and move around a circle of mixed action tiles.
Like the Patchwork mechanics, the player who is behind takes the turn.
Different types of actions are available on tiles:
Contracts — gaining or exchanging resources, activating factories, strengthening the next action.
Architects — the key action of construction.
To build a building, a player pays the indicated resources and places it in the center of the table, forming the city. New buildings must be adjacent to already constructed ones. When the grid reaches a size of 4×5 or 5×4, players finish building the city up to 20 buildings, after which they count the points.
