The famous writer Marina Pokrovskaya - in the world, Manya Polivanova - has quite lost her spirits. Alex Shan-Girey, the love of her life, is behaving strangely, and work isn't going well either. To gather her thoughts, Manya travels to the city of Belovodsk and witnesses a crime.
