Modern Children and Their Unmodern Parents

Our relationships with children precisely mirror our relationships with our "inner child," which, in turn, reflect the model of how adults treated us when we were children. If parents did not adequately experience a certain age during their own childhood, or did not resolve some important developmental task, then it's very likely they will not allow their children to do so as well... Unless, of course, they engage in self-exploration and work through what they were unable to accomplish at that time for some reason. This book is precisely about that. The psychological part is complemented by a narrative told from the perspective of a child, allowing us to imagine what they might tell adults if they could express their thoughts.
