Saladin

The book is dedicated to Sultan Saladin - Yusuf ibn Ayyub Salah ad-Din (1137-1193), one of the most outstanding military leaders, diplomats, and statesmen of the Muslim East, who recaptured Jerusalem from the Crusaders. The author examines the life and activities of the book's hero in the context of the clash of Christian, Islamic, and Jewish civilizations and the entire subsequent history of Europe and the Middle East, up to the dramatic events of the first decades of the 21st century.
