Course: Conversations with Students

The new book by Dmitry Krymov is a record of classes with students from GITIS, future theatrical artists. In these conversations, sometimes fragmentary and incomplete, and in a form far from what is usually called "a course of lectures," lies the main thing - a way to understand one’s own thoughts and artistic palette, a way to realize what you want to convey to the audience and how to embody the conceived.

Thinking about literature and art, exploring examples of world theatrical and artistic experience and stepping away from the usual interpretations of familiar images, Krymov explains to his interlocutors the unexplainable - how to "understand yourself, find yourself and not be ashamed of it." Who am I? What is the intention? What is this at all? How not to get lost when you are faced with Tolstoy or Pushkin? How to tell their story while simultaneously telling your own? All these and similar questions I know by touch; these stones on the road are my stones.
